Headland Methodist Church | Headland, Alabama Invest in the Next Generation. At Headland Methodist Church, we believe students aren't the church of tomorrow—they're the church of today. We're looking for a passionate, relational leader who loves Jesus, loves students, and is excited to build a thriving ministry that helps middle and high school students discover a lifelong faith in Christ. This isn't simply a programming position. It's an opportunity to disciple students, equip volunteers, partner with parents, and help shape the future of our church and community. What You'll Do Build Relationships Your first priority is people. Spend time where students are, earn their trust, know their stories, and create an environment where every student feels welcomed, known, and valued. Lead a Thriving Student Ministry Plan engaging weekly gatherings, Bible studies, retreats, camps, and special events that help students grow in their relationship with Christ and with one another. Make Disciples Teach God's Word faithfully while helping students take practical next steps in following Jesus through worship, Scripture, prayer, service, generosity, and mission. Develop Leaders Recruit, train, encourage, and care for volunteers who love students and want to make an eternal difference.Great ministries don't depend on one leader—they multiply leaders. Partner with Parents Parents are the primary spiritual influence in a student's life. Communicate consistently, encourage families, and equip parents to disciple their teenagers beyond Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings. Champion the Mission Work alongside our staff and church family to advance the mission of Headland Methodist Church: Loving God. Loving People. Making Disciples. Mission 140 is to reach 140 new people by 2029. Headland is building 500 new homes in our area and the population is set to double by 2030. Who You Are You are someone who: Loves Jesus and models a growing relationship with Him. Builds authentic relationships naturally. Is a leader who develops other leaders. Is energetic, creative, and adaptable. Is humble, teachable, and works well on a team. Communicates clearly with students, parents, and volunteers. Brings joy to ministry while pursuing excellence. Is organized, dependable, and self-motivated. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required (ministry or related field preferred). 2+ years of student ministry or equivalent leadership experience preferred. Strong biblical knowledge and alignment with the mission and doctrine of Headland Methodist Church, which is part of the Global Methodist Church. Ability to recruit, organize, and lead volunteer teams. Excellent communication and organizational skills. What Success Looks Like After your first few years... Students are becoming devoted followers of Jesus. Students are inviting their friends because they love being here. Volunteers are growing, serving, and multiplying. Parents trust the ministry and feel supported. Students are serving throughout the life of the church. Young people are discovering their gifts and calling. The ministry reflects the welcoming culture of Headland Methodist Church.
