Job Description
Principal Function:
The Pastor of Worship & Connection is responsible for assisting the Lead Pastor in planning and preparing services in such a way that it leads to an atmosphere and attitude of worship in the Body of Christ. He will work with the Pastor of Students in developing an ongoing presence through Social media platforms and oversight of our web page. He shall also assist the pastoral staff in the care of visitation, counsel and assistance to the church.
Administrative Relationship:
The Pastor of Worship & Connection is under the direction of the Lead Pastor.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Direct the planning, coordination, operation and evaluation of the music ministry to ultimately glorify God in every possible way.
• Coordinate all music opportunities with the church calendar and seasonal emphases of the church community.
• Develop a Music Council to assist in setting goals, organization, leadership, facilities and administrative process.
• Assist families when requested with music support for weddings, funerals and other special events as approved and placed on the church calendar.
• Oversee and direct the enlistment/training of leaders to serve in various capacities in the Worship Ministry of the church.
• Lead all individuals, ensembles and music groups in preparation for worship unless arranged for someone else to assist under your direct supervision.
• Coordinate the training and performance schedule of individuals and groups who assist in the leading of worship.
• Develop a plan to enlarge the worship ministry as a tool for discipleship and outreach.
• Remain informed and abreast of current music trends, methods and materials to be used to enhance the overall worship ministry of the church.
• Prepare the annual budget for worship and connection to be recommended to the Stewardship/Personnel Committee.
• Assist the Pastor of Students in developing a Student-Led Praise Team for their Wednesday Worship.
• Develop and oversee the Church’s Social Media Platforms and Webpage presence.
• Assume responsibility for the Church Accompanist and Tech Team Leader as church employees under your immediate supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor
